A picture might be worth a thousand words, but when it comes to product photography, photos can be worth thousands of dollars. Being a small business owner, and this especially goes for those just starting up, budget is always at the forefront and Investing in a professional photographer is more of a luxury than a necessity. There’s no reason you shouldn’t be bringing in sales long before you make that investment when you’re probably carrying the camera you need in your hands every day.
Don't Be Afraid to Use Your Smartphone Camera. The quality of smartphone pictures is severely underestimated and can be your best asset for showing your product off. Yep, your smartphone might be all you need. Smartphone cameras have come a long way from pixelated screens. While you might get higher quality photos with a DSLR camera, you can take perfectly fine photos with a smartphone. Consider getting a set of smartphone camera lenses. In many cases, this would be the best lens for product photography for you to take great product photos. You don’t have to have a professional camera or even a professional behind the shutter button anymore. Follow these guidelines and you’ll be well on your way to selling those goods. Turn your flash off, clean your lens, don’t forget to choose the largest file size and the highest resolution setting your phone allows. This will give you the best image possible to start with, and you can reduce file size when you edit.
Remember that if they aren’t perfect, you can always take more.
